Lemont Teen Killed in Lisle Motorcycle Collision
A 19-year-old Lemont resident died Tuesday in a motorcycle accident involving an SUV in Lisle. The incident occurred shortly after 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of Yackley and Burlington avenues.
Jakub Skiba was found unresponsive at the scene after his motorcycle collided with the SUV, which was reported to be on a curb. Emergency Medical Services pronounced Skiba dead on-site, while the female driver of the SUV was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for observation, according to authorities.
Witnesses stated that Skiba’s motorcycle was traveling southbound on Yackley at a high rate of speed when the SUV turned left onto Burlington, entering the motorcycle’s path. The Lisle Police Department is conducting an ongoing investigation, assisted by the DuPage MERIT Major Crash Reconstruction Team and the DuPage County Coroner’s Office.

Funeral services for Jakub Skiba are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Zarzycki Manor Chapels in Willow Springs, followed by a noon Mass. He is survived by his parents and other family members.
