Motorcycle Accident Claims Life of 19-Year-Old in Davenport
Davenport, IA – A 19-year-old man died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Thursday, July 30, 2026.
According to authorities, Lucas Lee (Luke) Eckstein of Illinois City, IL was involved in the incident at approximately 4:15 p.m. on a local roadway. Emergency medical responders arrived shortly after the crash but were unable to save him.
Authorities have confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the incident. The roadway was closed for approximately two hours to allow for an investigation and the removal of the motorcycle.
Eckstein was a recent graduate of Penn Foster and worked as a mechanic specializing in diesel engines. He is survived by his parents, Randy and Shawna Eckstein, and his young son, Colter.
A visitation is scheduled for Friday, August 7, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home in Milan. The funeral will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., with burial to follow at Buffalo Prairie Cemetery.
