Maryland Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 180 Exit Ramp in Lycoming County.

A Maryland man died following a motorcycle crash on an Interstate 180 exit ramp in Loyalsock Township on June 19.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:16 p.m. on the eastbound exit ramp to Warrensville Road.

Authorities identified the victim as 65-year-old Michael C. Bay of Westminster, Maryland. He was riding a 2000 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide when he attempted to exit but lost control.

Investigators reported that Bay made a sudden right turn to take the exit ramp, causing the motorcycle to strike the guide rail. The impact ejected him from the bike, which traveled nearly 190 feet before stopping.

Emergency responders arrived on the scene and found Bay unresponsive. Life-saving measures were initiated, but he was later pronounced dead at UPMC Williamsport.

State Police are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. No additional details regarding lane closures or tows were provided.
