Medford Pickup Driver Accused of Hitting Motorcycle, Resulting in Deaths of Two Central Point Riders.

A Medford woman has been charged with manslaughter following a motorcycle crash that killed two Central Point residents on Monday night.

At 9:38 p.m. on May 11, Oregon State Police (OSP) responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle on Highway 62, near milepost 3.

A westbound Dodge Ram pickup, driven by 35-year-old Kristin Michelle Cowan of Medford, struck the rear of a westbound Kawasaki Eliminator motorcycle operated by 56-year-old John Daren Stribling of Central Point.

Stribling and his passenger, 44-year-old Bobbie Lynn Stribling-King of Central Point, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Cowan reportedly sustained no injuries. Authorities indicated that impairment is considered a primary cause of the crash.

Cowan has been arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on charges of DUII, reckless driving, and manslaughter.

The investigation is ongoing, with assistance from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office. The highway was closed for approximately seven hours during the investigation.
