VALLEY COUNTY — A 32-year-old Meridian man died Saturday in a motorcycle crash on State Highway 55 near Cascade.
The incident occurred at 12:23 p.m. when the man lost control of his 2026 Honda CBR650 motorcycle while traveling southbound. According to Idaho State Police, he veered off the roadway, fell down an embankment, and came to rest in heavy brush near an empty pond at milepost 95.
Authorities reported that the rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident but succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Emergency response teams were dispatched, but no other vehicles were involved. The highway experienced temporary lane closures as investigators assessed the situation.
The identity of the deceased is pending public notification.
