Metro Police Conclude Fatal Collision Reports as May Draws to a Close.

LAS VEGAS, NV — Three separate fatal traffic incidents have been confirmed by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), bringing the total number of traffic fatalities in the area to 49 for 2026.

On Thursday night, a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision occurred on South Decatur Boulevard, just south of Spring Mountain Road. A 2013 Toyota RAV4 driven by 27-year-old Victoria Truong struck a 35-year-old male pedestrian as he crossed the roadway outside a marked crosswalk. The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Truong was arrested for DUI Resulting in Death and Reckless Driving after displaying signs of substance impairment, according to authorities.

In a separate incident, a red-light collision at the intersection of East Washington Avenue and North Bruce Street resulted in the death of a 49-year-old male driver of a Nissan pickup truck. Witnesses reported that a female driving a Ford Mustang convertible ran a red light and broadsided the truck. The driver of the Mustang now faces charges of Reckless Driving and DUI Resulting in Death, according to LVMPD.

Additionally, a high-speed multi-vehicle collision occurred at Boulder Highway and Desert Horizons Drive. A 2025 Hyundai Elantra, driven by 28-year-old Zachary Zwick, struck a 2024 Chrysler Pacifica minivan, resulting in the death of the minivan’s driver, 55-year-old Jeff Buchbaum. His passenger remains in stable condition at Sunrise Hospital. Zwick was charged with Reckless Driving Resulting in Death and has been booked from his hospital bed.

The identities of other involved parties are pending verification by the Clark County Coroner’s Office. The investigations are ongoing.
