LE MARS, Iowa (KTIV) – A motorcycle rider was critically injured in a crash on Friday night and is currently hospitalized.
The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident at approximately 10:10 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 3 and Marble Ave.
Authorities said the rider lost control of the motorcycle while traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a curve.
Witnesses attempted life-saving measures before deputies arrived and took over emergency response efforts, alongside local firefighters.
The rider was initially stabilized at a local hospital in Le Mars and was later life-flighted to a facility in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where they remain in critical condition.
The sheriff’s office has not released the identity of the rider, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
