Motorcycle Crash in Riverside Sends One to Hospital with Serious Injuries
RIVERSIDE, IA – A motorcycle accident on the Highway 218 southbound on-ramp at 7:30 p.m. Thursday resulted in one serious injury.
According to the Washington Communications Center, a motorcycle crashed and the driver was found unconscious in a ditch west of the on-ramp. Emergency responders from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office provided medical aid at the scene.
The driver, identified as 34-year-old James Taylor of Fowler, Illinois, was transported to University of Iowa Hospital. Taylor was operating a 2025 Harley-Davidson trike at the time of the incident.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Riverside Fire Department, Riverside QRS, Washington County Ambulance, Bulltown Towing, and the Iowa State Patrol.
No further details on the cause of the crash or additional injuries have been confirmed as the investigation is ongoing.
