SAN ANTONIO – A motorcycle crash resulted in a fireball and serious injuries to the rider at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the Stonecreek subdivision.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Oakwood and Wooden Fox. The rider, identified only as Josh, lost control of his motorcycle, which struck a curb and ignited. He suffered serious burns and required surgery but is expected to recover.
Video footage captured by local resident Robert Perez shows the rider engulfed in flames as he ran toward a nearby park to extinguish the fire. Witnesses reported that children nearby fled the scene when the crash occurred. Fortunately, no additional injuries were reported.
A nearby homeowner used a garden hose to help contain the fire. Authorities are investigating the incident but have not released further details.
Residents expressed concern about speeding in the area, noting that the posted speed limit is 20 mph. They are advocating for traffic calming measures, such as speed bumps, on Wooden Fox Road, where children frequently cross to access a nearby playground.
