PHOENIX (Local News Wire) — A man is dead, and a woman is critically injured following a motorcycle-car collision in west Phoenix early Saturday.
The incident occurred just before 2 a.m. near 51st Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
First responders found the male motorcycle rider deceased at the scene. His identity has not been released.
A female passenger on the motorcycle was transported to a hospital in extremely critical condition, authorities confirmed.
A third individual, a male driver, was evaluated but declined medical transport, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.
Detectives are investigating the cause of the collision. Motorists are advised to avoid the area as the investigation proceeds.
