A man is dead and another is hospitalized following a motorcycle crash on the Dolphin Expressway ramp Saturday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The incident occurred around 2:41 p.m. when two motorcyclists traveling together exited the southbound Florida Turnpike onto the ramp to eastbound State Road 836. One motorcyclist lost control while negotiating a curve, colliding with the guardrail. Following that impact, the motorcycle was redirected into the path of the second rider.
The motorcyclist who hit the guardrail, described only as a man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second motorcyclist sustained minor injuries and was transported to Kendall HCA Hospital; their identity has not been released.
Authorities reported that the exit ramp was closed during the investigation. No further details were provided, and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
