MANCHESTER, NH — A motorcyclist suffered catastrophic injuries after being thrown from his bike and falling 65 feet to the Merrimack River bank early Wednesday.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. on the Exit 5 off ramp from Interstate 293 North near Granite Street, according to the Manchester Fire Department. Arriving units found the motorcycle abandoned on the roadway with no rider present.
Further investigation revealed that the 23-year-old motorcyclist, identified as Youseff Mahgoub of Bedford, was ejected over a guardrail, sustaining severe injuries from both the impact and the fall, described as multi-system trauma.
Rescue crews deployed boats to reach Mahgoub, providing immediate medical attention including tourniquets before transporting him to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The New Hampshire State Police confirmed that the crash remains under investigation. No additional details have been released regarding possible causes or other vehicles involved. Lane closures were reported in the area during the emergency response.
