REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. — A high-speed motorcycle crash on Bay Vista Road left a Rehoboth Beach rider critically injured Thursday afternoon.
According to Delaware State Police, the incident occurred around 3:15 p.m. when an 18-year-old motorcyclist was traveling westbound on a Yamaha YZR at a high rate of speed. The rider failed to navigate a sharp left curve, leading to the motorcycle overturning and sliding into a parked Chevrolet Colorado on the grass shoulder.
The injured rider was transported to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.
Bay Vista Road was closed for approximately two hours while emergency crews investigated the crash and cleared the scene.
