Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 435 Leaves Rider Seriously Injured Near U.S. 40
Kansas City, MO (April 2, 2026) – A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries Thursday afternoon in a collision on Interstate 435.
According to the Kansas City Police, the accident occurred shortly before 1:30 p.m. on southbound I-435, just south of U.S. 40 Highway. A Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling south at a high rate of speed when it was struck by a Ford Escape changing lanes.
The impact ejected the rider from the motorcycle. Emergency responders transported the injured motorcyclist to a local hospital, where they were initially listed in critical condition but later reported as serious but stable by Thursday evening. The driver of the Ford Escape was uninjured.
Authorities have not released further details regarding the investigation or potential lane closures.
