Motorcycle passenger killed in collision with car on Highway 12 in Napa County.

A motorcycle crash on Highway 12 in Napa County on Tuesday, May 12, resulted in one fatality and major injuries to the driver, authorities said.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:52 p.m. when a motorcycle traveling eastbound between lanes collided with a black Honda near the Highway 29 intersection. The motorcycle’s passenger was thrown from the bike and subsequently struck by a passing vehicle, sustaining fatal injuries.

The motorcycle driver was airlifted to Queen of the Valley Hospital with significant injuries. The identities of both the driver and passenger have not been released.

California Highway Patrol (CHP) closed the roadway for approximately 90 minutes for the investigation. The drivers of the other vehicles involved remained at the scene and are cooperating with officials. The crash is under investigation, according to CHP.
