Motorcycle Crash in Chester Claims Life of Local Rider
CHESTER, NY — A motorcycle accident on Laroe Road (Route 45) on Saturday, May 30, claimed the life of 29-year-old Patrick “Pat” Grabowski, according to the Town of Chester Police Department.
Officers responded to the scene just before 8 p.m. and located a black 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle that had left the roadway. Grabowski was found nearby and pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities reported that no other vehicles were involved. Grabowski was riding northbound when he failed to negotiate a curve, resulting in the crash.
Emergency responders included the Chester Fire Department, Empress EMS, and New York State Police. No lane closures were noted following the incident.
The investigation is ongoing. Grabowski is remembered as a heavy equipment operator and a passionate outdoor enthusiast. He is survived by his mother, Julie Wagner, and siblings, as well as extended family and friends.
Visitation is set for Saturday, June 6, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at T.S. Purta Funeral Home in Pine Island, with a private cremation to follow.
