Motorcyclist Airlifted Following Collision in Pinebluff.

Motorcycle Collision in Pinebluff Leaves Rider Critically Injured

PINEBLUFF, NC — A motorcyclist was airlifted to UNC after a serious collision with a sedan at U.S. Highway 1 and N Currant Street on Thursday afternoon around 2:30 p.m.

Emergency crews responded to reports of the crash involving a motorcycle and a 4-door sedan. First responders found significant damage, leading to the closure of both northbound lanes on U.S. Highway 1.

According to the N.C. Highway Patrol, the motorcycle operator suffered critical injuries and was transported by Moore County EMS to a landing zone at the local ball field. The N.C. State Highway Patrol is handling the investigation, with assistance from Pinebluff PD.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation; no additional details have been released. A UNC Health helicopter was seen landing to transport the injured rider to a trauma center for further medical care.

The condition of the sedan driver remains undisclosed. Traffic delays persisted for over an hour as emergency personnel managed the scene and collected evidence, with the roadway reopening at approximately 4 p.m.

Pinebluff Fire & Rescue, Aberdeen Fire & Rescue, Moore County EMS, Pinebluff Police Department, and the N.C. State Highway Patrol were all on site.
