Motorcyclist airlifted to Rockford hospital following crash near Marengo.

MCHENRY COUNTY, Ill. (Local News Wire) – A serious motorcycle crash occurred late Monday evening in Marengo, resulting in a hospitalized rider.

Shortly before 10:30 p.m. on August 17, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 16200 block of Poplar Road, east of Illinois Route 23.

Authorities said the motorcyclist, a 39-year-old man from Marengo, lost control while traveling eastbound, resulting in him being thrown from the motorcycle after it rolled. The roadway surface transitions from asphalt to gravel at the crash site.

The rider was airlifted to a Rockford hospital, where he is listed in serious condition, according to the sheriff’s office.
