WAIKOLOA, Hawaii (Local News Wire) – A motorcyclist critically injured in a May crash has died, authorities confirmed on Sunday.
The victim was identified as 38-year-old Jessie Lee Stacy of Waikoloa.
The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on May 16 when a 2018 Nissan Altima, driven by a 61-year-old man from California, made a left turn from Waikoloa Road onto Uluwehi Street.
Police reported the Altima collided with Stacy’s blue 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, which was traveling westbound.
Stacy was initially taken to North Hawaii Community Hospital in critical condition, then airlifted to The Queen’s Medical Center.
Authorities said the driver of the Altima and his 60-year-old female passenger were not injured.
Police do not believe speed or alcohol contributed to the crash, but a negligent injury investigation is underway.
Witnesses are urged to contact police at 326-4646, extension 229.
