ATLANTA — A motorcycle crash on Interstate 20 early Friday morning claimed the life of a 48-year-old man near McDaniel Street.
Officers responded at 8:46 a.m. to reports of a collision involving a single motorcycle on the I-20 eastbound lanes.
Authorities said the motorcyclist lost control and slid several hundred feet along the roadway. His helmet was damaged and came off during the crash, resulting in fatal head injuries.
Emergency medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene. The victim was identified by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office as Glenn Carlson.
The Atlanta Police Department’s Accident Investigations Unit is handling the case. Investigators confirmed no other vehicles were involved.
The investigation is ongoing.
