Motorcyclist Dies in I-17 Collision in Phoenix Early Saturday Morning
A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Interstate 17 south of Glendale Avenue early Saturday morning, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS).
DPS troopers responded to the incident at approximately 3 a.m. The motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle after colliding with another vehicle and was transported to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
Authorities stated that the cause of the crash is still under investigation, and it remains unclear if impairment played a role.
Northbound I-17 was closed for several hours, with lanes reopening around 7 a.m.
Emergency response included DPS and medical personnel. No other injuries were reported at this time.
