A motorcyclist died following a collision with a car on Braddock Road in Burke on June 29, 2026, at approximately 9:36 p.m.
According to the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD), the crash occurred at the intersection of Braddock Road and Kings Park Drive. Paul Economon Jr., 26, of Clifton, was traveling east on a 2013 Honda CB1100 motorcycle when he collided with a 2021 Toyota Corolla making a left turn from the westbound lanes onto Kings Park Drive.
Economon was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Toyota suffered minor injuries and was also hospitalized.
“Preliminarily, detectives believe speed was a factor in the crash for the motorcyclist,” FCPD stated. “Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.”
The speed limit in the area is 45 mph. The eastbound lanes of Braddock Road remain closed at Kings Park Drive as the FCPD’s Crash Reconstruction Unit investigates the incident. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
This fatality marks the second on Braddock Road this year. A 57-year-old man from Centreville died in a separate incident in February.
Authorities continue to gather information and urge caution and vigilance on the roads.
