One Person Dies in Motorcycle Collision at Byron Hwy and N. Bruns Rd
Byron, CA – A motorcyclist was killed after a collision with a car on Friday morning at Byron Highway and North Bruns Road, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The crash occurred around 7:15 a.m. on July 24, 2026. A motorcycle and a Chevrolet Camry collided for reasons that remain under investigation by CHP.
The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike and landed on the roadside, sustaining fatal injuries. A representative from the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office was dispatched to the scene.
Authorities closed southbound Byron Highway at North Bruns Road for approximately 45 minutes, advising drivers to use alternative routes. Both vehicles were towed from the site.
CHP is actively investigating the cause of the collision.
