Motorcyclist dies after crash on I-75 involving car

DETROIT – A motorcyclist died following a crash on northbound I-75 near the Lodge Freeway early Thursday.
According to Michigan State Police, the incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. when a car rear-ended the motorcycle, causing the rider to lose control.
The motorcycle driver was transported to a local hospital, where they later died from their injuries. Identification of the deceased is pending.
Authorities stated that the car also rolled over after the impact; the status of the car’s driver remains unclear.
Northbound lanes of I-75 were closed for several hours as emergency crews cleared the scene. An investigation is ongoing.
