A motorcyclist died Sunday night following a collision on I-95 South near the Fairfield rest area, according to state police.
Jose Bautista Soto, 37, was riding his motorcycle around 10:30 p.m. when he struck the rear of a car. Authorities reported that Bautista Soto was ejected from the motorcycle, which then crashed onto its side.
Emergency responders transported him to Bridgeport Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Both vehicles involved were towed from the scene.
State police did not disclose further details regarding the condition of the car’s driver or passengers. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
