Fatal Motorcycle Crash Closes Lanes on I-90 Near Bellevue
A fatal collision involving a motorcycle and a car occurred on westbound I-90 near Bellevue on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at approximately 2:40 p.m.
According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the accident happened near the I-405 interchange. A vehicle reportedly slowed for traffic when the motorcyclist rear-ended it and was thrown from his bike. The rider was subsequently struck by another vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported. WSP officials indicated that the motorcyclist was following too closely, which contributed to the crash.
Westbound I-90 experienced lane closures near 133rd Avenue S.E., resulting in a two-mile backup. All lanes have since been cleared and reopened.
