An Exeter Township man, 49, was killed in a motorcycle accident at Route 562 and Shelbourne Road early Saturday morning, according to the Berks County Coroner.
Larry Pergola Jr. was riding his motorcycle when it was struck by a minivan around 12:11 a.m. Emergency responders transported him to Reading Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:56 a.m. The coroner’s office was notified by the hospital at 1:30 a.m.
Authorities reported that the investigation into the crash is ongoing, with the cause and manner of death still to be determined. No additional details were available as of Sunday.
Pergola’s death marks the 24th fatality on Berks County roads in 2023.
