HANCOCK, Maine (WGME) – A motorcycle accident in Hancock has resulted in the death of a 44-year-old man.
Maine State Police responded to the crash on Route 1 near Washington Junction at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Friday.
According to authorities, Jim Hoyt of Sullivan was riding his motorcycle when he crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a pickup truck.
Hoyt was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The driver of the pickup truck sustained minor injuries.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and no further details have been released.
