LOS ANGELES, CA — A motorcyclist was killed early Thursday morning in a hit-and-run collision in Sun Valley, leading to the suspect’s arrest, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The incident occurred around 4:20 a.m. near Bradley Avenue and Tuxford Street. Authorities said a white 2017 Freightliner Cascadia truck was northbound on Bradley Avenue when it made a left turn into a business and collided with the motorcyclist, who was attempting to pass on the left.
The truck driver left the scene without stopping to assist, which is required by law, police reported. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics arrived and pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification of relatives.
Police subsequently identified the suspect vehicle and driver. The 64-year-old Glendale resident, Edvard Gyulnazaryan, returned to the scene and was taken into custody without incident.
Gyulnazaryan was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run causing death and was booked into the Van Nuys Jail. Bail information was not available as of Thursday.
