Published October 13, 2026, 5:06 PM

A 65-year-old man from Wyoming was killed in a motorcycle crash in Loveland on Monday afternoon, according to authorities.

The incident occurred at 1:01 p.m. at the intersection of East 29th Street and North Garfield Avenue. A 55-year-old Loveland resident was driving a GMC truck northbound when he made a turn in front of the southbound Yamaha motorcycle.

The motorcycle collided with the turning truck, resulting in the rider being thrown from the bike. Emergency responders performed life-saving measures, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the deceased will be released by the Larimer County Coroner’s Office following an autopsy and family notification. Preliminary investigations indicate that the truck driver failed to yield the right of way and has been charged, Loveland Police Department said. There is no evidence that speed, drugs, or alcohol contributed to the crash.

The intersection remained closed for several hours during the investigation. The Loveland Police Department expressed condolences, stating, “The loss of life, particularly under sudden and tragic circumstances, can leave a lasting impact on families, friends, and the community.”

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the Loveland Police Department at (970) 667-2151. This marks the third motorcyclist fatality in northern Colorado in the past five days, with previous incidents occurring in Greeley.
