Motorcyclist Dies in Major Traffic Incident in Plainfield, Police Report.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A motorcyclist was killed Friday morning after a car failed to yield the right of way at 6:05 a.m., according to Plainfield police.

The crash occurred at the intersection of 119th Street and Route 30. A 2025 Harley Davidson motorcycle, traveling northbound on Route 30, was struck by a black 2023 Chevrolet Malibu, which was attempting to turn left onto 119th Street.

The motorcyclist was transported to Rush Copley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities have not released the victim’s identity, pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the Chevrolet remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. No citations or charges have been filed as of this time.

No additional injuries were reported in the incident. The Plainfield Police Department issued an alert at 8:10 a.m., and the intersection was temporarily closed for investigation and reconstruction by Plainfield police and the Illinois State Police.
