CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, IL – A motorcycle accident on IL-130 northbound near Old Church Road claimed the life of a motorcyclist Tuesday evening.
According to preliminary information from Illinois State Police Troop 7, the crash occurred when a motorcycle collided with a pickup truck. The motorcyclist, whose identity is pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident took place just south of Philo, leading to a closure of IL-130 for several hours while investigators reconstructed the scene. All lanes reopened at approximately 1:07 a.m. Wednesday.
No information has been released regarding the cause of the accident or the condition of the pickup truck driver. The investigation is ongoing.
