A man in his 40s was killed in a motorcycle crash Friday morning on Georgia Highway 57 near Taylor Woods Road.
According to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP), a trooper was dispatched to the scene at 6:37 a.m. Witnesses reported that the motorcycle, traveling west, left the roadway, struck a ditch, and collided with several small trees and bushes. A school bus driver discovered the crash site after noticing illuminated taillights in the woods.
The exact time of the crash remains unknown. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene, and his identity has not yet been released.
Chief Deputy Leonard Long of the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the incident involved only the motorcycle. The GSP is leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
