Motorcyclist dies in Windham three-vehicle crash, driver faces OUI charge.

WINDHAM, Maine — A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday night in a three-vehicle crash on Route 302, according to police.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:07 p.m. on September 16. A 2016 white GMC pickup truck, driven by 36-year-old Chad Jordan of Westbrook, was traveling south on Route 302 when it collided with a northbound 2010 Honda Odyssey, driven by 44-year-old Melinda Poirier of Casco.

Following that impact, the pickup continued south in the northbound lane, striking a motorcycle traveling north in its designated lane. The motorcycle caught fire immediately, resulting in the death of its operator, whose identity is being withheld pending family notification.

Authorities reported that impairment appears to be a primary factor in the crash. Jordan was charged with operating under the influence and has been taken to the Cumberland County Jail. Additional charges are anticipated as the investigation continues and will be reviewed by the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office.

Emergency services responded to the scene, and lane closures were implemented for the investigation. No other injuries were reported.
