UPDATE – JULY 29:
A motorcycle crash on U.S. 50 in Eureka County has resulted in the death of a 73-year-old woman from Washington.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at 9:53 a.m. on Monday near mile marker 17, approximately 18 miles west of Eureka. Investigators report that Karen Thompson, of Snohomish, was riding a black BMW motorcycle westbound when she lost control, leading to a low-side slide.
Thompson was ejected from the motorcycle and was found on the dirt shoulder. The motorcycle came to rest on its right side in the roadway. Despite the response from emergency services, Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Nevada Highway Patrol’s Major Incident Reconstruction Team is conducting an ongoing investigation into the crash.
