A motorcycle accident on Highway 395 Wednesday afternoon left one man injured, prompting an investigation by the Nevada Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 2:41 p.m. between Mica Drive and Jacks Valley Road. Alcides Joel Rodriguez, 26, of Carson City, was riding a 2006 Yamaha motorcycle when he collided with the rear of a pickup truck driven by Courtney Garnett, 26, of Louiston, Montana. Authorities said Rodriguez was ejected and landed in the cable divider.
Rodriguez sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was airlifted from the scene for medical treatment.
In a separate incident later that evening, a female pedestrian was injured at the intersection of Highway 395 and Topsy Lane. The accident was reported at 5:05 p.m., and East Fork and Carson City firefighters responded to the scene. The woman suffered a leg injury and was transported by Careflight to a hospital in Reno.
Both incidents are under investigation by their respective authorities. Further details have not been released.
