WALTON, Ky. (WKRC) — A motorcycle crash claimed the life of a 47-year-old man in Walton on Sunday evening.
According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Robert Schulze of Williamstown lost control of his motorcycle on a curve on Dixie Highway at Duffel Lane around 6:45 p.m. The motorcycle veered off the roadway, struck a culvert, and collided with a metal gate, resulting in Schulze being thrown off.
Schulze was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities reported that he was not wearing a helmet and indicated that speed and alcohol may have contributed to the crash. No other vehicles were involved.
Dixie Highway was closed in the area for the investigation, reopening just after 9:30 p.m. The investigation is ongoing.
