A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after colliding with a recreational vehicle on East Platte Avenue in Colorado Springs at 3:05 p.m. on Sunday.
The crash occurred in the 2200 block of East Platte Avenue when the RV, towing a trailer, slowed to make a turn into a parking lot. The motorcycle, following the RV, failed to stop in time and struck the trailer, ejecting the rider, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.
Bystanders provided initial aid until emergency medical personnel arrived. The rider was transported to a local hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries, authorities reported.
Neither speed nor impairment is believed to be factors in the accident. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The incident remains under investigation, and no additional details have been released.
