A motorcyclist was killed Thursday night in a collision with a sports utility vehicle in Naperville, Illinois.
According to Naperville Police, the crash occurred at the intersection of Chicago Avenue and Naper Boulevard around 9:30 p.m. Officers responded to reports of injuries at the scene.
Investigators found a blue 2024 Suzuki motorcycle and a gray 2024 VinFast SUV involved in the incident. Despite lifesaving measures, the motorcyclist, identified as 26-year-old Dante Fields of Woodridge, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary reports indicate the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Chicago Avenue at a high rate of speed, entering the intersection on a solid green light. The SUV was reportedly turning left from westbound Maple Avenue to southbound Naper Boulevard when the motorcycle struck its passenger side.
Authorities stated that no charges have been filed, and the investigation is ongoing by the Naperville Police Department.
