BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. — A 48-year-old man from Axis died early Christmas Eve after his motorcycle was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 65.
The crash occurred around 1:20 a.m. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Gary W. Jordan was riding a 2023 Yamaha YZF-R7 when he was hit by a 2022 Hyundai Sonata driven by 21-year-old Jemalra Williams of Atmore.
Authorities reported that Jordan was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. Williams sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The incident took place near the 43-mile marker on Interstate 65, approximately nine miles north of Bay Minette city limits, ALEA stated.
Troopers from ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
