BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — On September 19, a motorcycle-car collision on US 25 near Watson Road resulted in the death of the motorcycle operator, authorities reported.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:59 a.m. when Ryan Emery Neill, 25, was riding a black Honda motorcycle while Katelin Michelle Poole, 21, was driving a silver Volkswagen. Both vehicles were traveling northbound on US 25 when they collided in the left lane, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP).
Neill sustained critical injuries and was transported to Mission Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Next of kin have been notified, per NCSHP Sgt. H.M. Onderdonk.
No charges have been filed as the investigation is ongoing. Lane closures were reported following the incident while emergency responders were on the scene.
