A 20-year-old motorcyclist died following a collision with a Camaro in Tempe on Saturday night.
TEMPE, Ariz. — The crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. near Kiwanis Park when a Camaro failed to yield while exiting and struck the eastbound motorcycle on Baseline Road, according to the Tempe Police Department.
The motorcyclist, identified as Isaac Wielander, was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, authorities said.
Both the driver and passenger of the Camaro remained at the scene. Police arrested the driver, 23-year-old Wilson Martin Chavez, after observing signs of impairment. He has been booked and faces multiple charges.
The investigation is ongoing, and no road closures were reported related to the incident.
