MESA, AZ — A motorcyclist died Saturday evening following a collision at SR 24 and Signal Butte Road, marking the third serious crash at the intersection this week.
According to Mesa Police, emergency responders arrived at the scene and pronounced the motorcyclist dead. The identity of the rider has not yet been released.
Authorities confirmed that it is unclear if any other individuals were injured in this latest incident. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
This crash follows two previous serious incidents at the same intersection within the week. On Sunday, May 24, a van collided with another vehicle, resulting in one fatality and eight injuries. Two days later, another serious crash occurred, also reportedly caused by a driver running a red light.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation as investigations proceed. Lane closures are in effect as teams assess the scene.
