A motorcyclist died in a collision with a car Thursday morning at the intersection of Highway 41A South and Sango Drive in Clarksville.
Walter Celusta, 32, of Tennessee, was riding a 2025 Honda XR650 motorcycle when a 2017 Mercedes-Benz, driven by 42-year-old Keith Mayrena from Mississippi, struck him from behind, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP). The crash occurred around 5:30 a.m.
Celusta was ejected from his motorcycle, and both vehicles came to rest in the intersection. Emergency Medical Services pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Authorities are investigating the accident, and THP stated that charges could be filed depending on the investigation’s outcome. Deputy sheriffs from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and THP troopers responded, diverting traffic while the site was cleared.
