BENZIE COUNTY, MI – A three-vehicle crash resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries on M-115 near Crystal Lake Road on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Benzie County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m.
Authorities reported that a southbound sedan collided with an SUV turning left onto Crystal Lake Road, which subsequently struck a third vehicle.
Emergency responders pronounced a 52-year-old woman dead at the scene; her identity has not yet been released.
Two occupants from the SUV sustained serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital, while the third driver reported minor injuries.
The crash led to lane closures on M-115 for several hours as investigators conducted their inquiry.
The Benzie County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation; officials stated that speed and weather conditions are being examined as potential factors.
