A motorcyclist died following a crash involving a New Jersey state trooper on Route 70 in Southampton Township.
The incident occurred near Burrs Mills Road, where the marked patrol vehicle collided with the motorcycle. Authorities said that the motorcyclist was transported to Virtua Mount Holly Hospital and pronounced dead at approximately 12:45 p.m.
The state trooper sustained no significant injuries in the crash. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The Attorney General’s Office is conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
