A senior student from Archbishop Stepinac High School is in critical condition following a motorcycle accident Wednesday morning in Yonkers.

According to Westchester County Police, the incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on the Cross County Parkway. The sole vehicle involved was a motorcycle, operated by an 18-year-old male from the Bronx.

Authorities reported the rider was exiting from the Bronx River Parkway onto the Cross County Parkway when the crash took place. Emergency medical personnel provided aid on the scene, and the rider was transported to a local hospital.

Paul Carty, principal of Archbishop Stepinac, stated in an email that the student, identified as Alexis Pabellon, is in critical but stable condition. He encouraged the school community to keep Pabellon and his family in their thoughts and prayers.

Witnesses reported seeing emergency services responding promptly to the accident. Lane closures were implemented as an investigation into the crash is underway.
