North Platte Man Dies in Motorcycle Accident on U.S. Highway 30 in Hershey
HERSHEY, Neb. (AP) — A 28-year-old North Platte man was fatally injured in a motorcycle accident on U.S. Highway 30 at approximately 6:35 a.m. Monday.
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Kevin Engleman was riding west on the highway when he swerved to avoid a dog in the road. Engleman lost control of the motorcycle, which crashed and left him in the westbound lanes.
The Sheriff’s Office stated that Engleman was subsequently struck by a westbound pickup truck. The driver reportedly did not see him due to low visibility conditions at the time.
Engleman was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident remains under investigation by authorities.
