RICHLAND COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – An off-duty Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper died in a motorcycle crash on Oct. 8.
Sergeant Tyler Carr, 46, of Shelby, who served over 22 years with the Patrol, was involved in the accident while riding his motorcycle.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on a local roadway, though exact details regarding the collision remain under investigation.
Reports indicate that Sergeant Carr was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency responders from local agencies were dispatched to assist.
A funeral service for Sergeant Carr is scheduled for Oct. 16. In the wake of his passing, a GoFundMe page has been established to support his teenage daughter.
