JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. — On Saturday, Jan. 17, at approximately 5:45 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a fatal three-vehicle crash at Kirtland Road (Hwy 140) and High Banks Road.
Authorities said a Cadillac Escalade, driven by Michael Bryan Dickerson, 74, of Grants Pass, was traveling north on High Pass Road when it entered Kirtland Road, colliding with a Ford Escape driven by a 16-year-old female from Central Point.
About five minutes later, a Harley Davidson Electra Glide motorcycle, operated by 27-year-old Jeremy Bruno Fantechi of Grants Pass, struck the Cadillac at a high rate of speed.
Fantechi was pronounced dead at the scene, while both Dickerson and the juvenile driver were uninjured.
The crash led to lane closures on the highway for approximately four hours during the investigation.
Oregon State Police were assisted at the scene by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Fire District 3, and ODOT.
